IndyCar Spring Training, Day 2

The second day of testing at Barber Motorsports Park has commenced with a familiar name at the top of the charts. Will Power was the quickest of the 22 cars for the second day. It was a narrow margin however, as Justin Wilson finished just 0.0038 seconds behind the Aussie. Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato, and Ryan Briscoe rounded out the top five on Tuesday.

This is the second year in a row in which Power swept the Open Test. He also won the race at Barber in 2011 and 2012, while aslo winning the pole for the races here in 2010 and 2011. The entire 22-car field finished within 1.3 seconds of eachother, which shows just how deep and talented this crop of drivers are. The Verizon IndyCar Series will now turn it’s attention to next weekend’s season-opening race at St Petersburg. The race will begin at 3:20 PM ET on March 30th, with practice beginning on March 28th for the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.

Here is some video of Sebastian Saavedra’s day at Barber from Tuesday.
