Today the teams and drivers of the Verizon IndyCar Series finally hit the track, in the first of two days of spring training for the upcoming season. The temperatures were low, and there was some moisture in the early morning hours, but things picked up later in the day. Team Penske finished the day with the fastest 3 times during practice.
Will Power led Juan Montoya and Helio Castroneves around the 2.38 mile road course, turning a total of 154 laps. Spring training will wrap up tomorrow as the series will turn it’s attention to the season opening race at St Petersburg in less than two weeks. Practice for St Petersburg begins on March 28, with the race set for March 30. The race will air at 3 PM ET on ABC.
