Rain Halts Tuesday Indy 500 Practice

The second day of practice for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 was cancelled today. The decision was announced at 2:45 PM, due to rain and wet track conditions. The last full day of Indy 500 practice cancelled due to rain was on May 18 of 2011. Practice will resume tomorrow, from Noon until 6 PM on the 2.5 mile oval. If you are unable to make it here to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you can always watch on RaceControl.IndyCar.com, where it will be streamed live.

The forecast for the rest of the week looks very good, with sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60’s tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. Qualifications will get under way on Saturday, and the Pole will be determined on Sunday. The forecast for both days looks great right now, with sun and temperatures in the low 70’s.

Yesterday, IndyCar announced the official entry list for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500. There were no surprises, but the 33 drivers below will make up the field for this year’s historic race.
