A champion will be crowned one week from today, but there are still two races left to decide who will win it. The GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma is tomorrow, with a grueling 85-lap race on the natural terrain road course. There are two practice sessions today, which will be followed by qualifying later this evening. The first practice session is in the books, and 2012 series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay was the fastest, recording a lap of 1:17.7150 seconds.
Ganassi teammates Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan were second and third fastest in the first session. Penske teammates and championship contenders Helio Castroneves and Will Power were fourth and fifth. The second 45-minute practice session begins at 4:15 PM ET, with qualifications getting underway at 7:30 ET tonight. Power currently leads Castroneves by 39 points, and has won three of the last four races here.
